I love Halloween with all the scary movies, but of course that is not something that I fully could get into until my own little ones were not so little. I was sent a copy of Peg + Cat: A Totally Awesome Halloween on DVD to check out. I'll admit to being unfamiliar with Peg + Cat since I don't have little ones in the house, so I settled down on the couch and discovered it is jam packed with whimsical songs and lessons about sharing. This is a great not so scary Halloween treat for little ones.
Join Peg + Cat on her adventures as she shows basic math concepts like shapes, estimating, and sorting as well as some counting. I will admit that I chuckled at, "Count backwards from 5 to calm down." This is something that I may need to practice myself.
Peg + Cat: A Totally Awesome Halloween is approximately 60 minutes and includes the following episodes:
The Parade Problem
The Halloween Problem
The Highlight Zone Problem
The Bermuda Triangle Problem
Inside the DVD case there is a counting activity that can adapted to seasons other than Halloween, and a recycling project can be done all year round.
Check out PBSKIDS.org/peg for even more Peg + Cat fun.
