The Kendama by Woodtellect is a great "Ball in Cup" hand eye coordination game that was sent to me in exchange for my honest review. The Kendama is well made, and standing up to a lot of use so far. The wood under the paint is very smooth and I don't have to worry about splinters.
Game play is simple as you hold the hammer and try to catch the ball on one of the three "cup" surfaces, or get the ball on the spike. I have not mastered anything beyond getting a single catch in a cup. You can also hold the ball and try and catch the hammer. Both Hammer and ball are comfortable to hold, but I highly suggest light swings until you get the hang of it.
If you have bad hand eye coordination like I do, you will be hitting yourself on your hands and arms with the swinging part. I recommend playing with it outside away from anything breakable until you get a feel for how long the string is. I have almost worked up to two catch cups, but I don't know that I will ever be able to get the ball on the spike, but I am having fun practicing.
