I love banana bread, but hate heating up the house for it during summer.  I figured the slow cooker would be a great way to make some chocolate chip banana bread, without heating up the house.  I played with the ingredients a little bit from my Chocolate Banana Cupcakes.

1/2 cup butter (room temp)
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 3/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
3 mashed bananas
1/2 cup chocolate chips

Extra butter and flour to grease and flour bottom half of slow cooker

Grease and flour bottom and half way up the sides of slow cooker insert.  In medium bowl sift together flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda.  In large separate bowl cream together sugar and butter.  Add eggs and vanilla to butter and mix until combined.  Add mashed bananas and flour mixture.  Mix until flour is wet, and fold in chocolate chips.  Pour into slow cooker, cover and set on HI.  Cook for 1.5 - 2 hours.  Banana bread is done when toothpick is clean.  Let cook uncovered for a few minutes and flip onto cooling rack to fully cool.  Mine just fell right out of the insert.  I do have an older slow cooker that is very large, so be sure to watch yours as cooking times will vary.
