Some things are not only comfort foods, but a necessity of life.  My morning coffee is essential to almost turning me into a human in the morning.  It's so bad that my girls will ask if they can have cereal and use up the last of the milk for breakfast, or if I need my coffee.  Of course I'm never told them no, and just did the zombie shuffle to the store after dropping them off at school.

I have to blame my hubby for my morning coffee addiction.  When we visit his mom, she makes coffee with heated milk, a bit of sugar, and freshly made espresso.  His at home version is heated milk, Nescafe Clasico (no other instant coffee will do), and some sugar.  I've become addicted to the rich taste, and have a mug of hot coffee every morning now.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cup milk
4 teaspoon Nescafe Classico instant coffee
2 teaspoon sugar

Directions:

Place milk in microwave safe coffee mug and heat for 1.5 - 2 minutes.  Stir in instant coffee and sugar.  Of course adjust to your own tastes.  Until recently I would use 4 teaspoons of sugar because I love that sugary taste, but have cut back to help me lose some weight.

Hubby like his coffee in a smaller cup, so he does about a cup of milk, 2 teaspoons of instant coffee, and 1 teaspoon of sugar.
