I had the opportunity to attend the 2015 International Home + Housewares Show in Chicago, and had a blast. The show was held at the McCormick Place March 7-10. With over 2,500 vendors, it was 4 days of non stop ohhh and ahhh over new products and home appliances that will be hitting store shelves this year, if they have not already. I did not has a press badge, so I was limited on what I could take pictures of, but here are some of the ones that I was able to snap.
A hearty breakfast is always the best way to start a day, and who knew you could GRILL a pancake for breakfast? Cookina was demonstrating the Barbecue Sheet, and what better demonstration than to have people grill their own pancakes? This nifty sheet can be cut down to size, and even allows grill marks to show up on your food. I absolutely enjoyed making and eating my grilled pancake for breakfast.
Pyrex celebrated it's 100th year and to celebrate they created the worlds largest measuring cup, and it was filled with 180 gallons popcorn from Garrett’s. A representative from Guinness World Records as on-site to officiate and authenticate the claim of World's Largest Measuring Cup.
I had an amazing opportunity to sit down with Cathy Mitchell in a small round table discussion group and talk with her about her new cookbook Dump Dinners. I love how friendly and down to earth she is, and I am looking forward to trying out some of the Dump Dinner recipes for myself.
Three themes that stood out to me for the small home appliances and kitchenware lines were color, multi-function, and retro. To see what I mean, head on over to Week99ers post. She had a press pass and was able to take a bunch of pictures that show off these themes.
