Gorton's has teamed up with The SparkPeople, and sent me a bunch of goodies including free product coupons in exchange for my honest review and to help promote The 30-Day Realistic Resolution Challenge.  This is great since one of my resolutions this year is to lose 52 lbs in 52 weeks.  I picked up some Garlic Butter Grilled Fillets for my review.  Sadly my store does not yet carry their new line of Simply Baked products, but I will keep an eye out for them.

As of this post I'm only on Day 1 of the 30-Day Challenge.  I downloaded the SparkPeople app to my phone and easily connected my fitness tracker.  I've thumbed through The SparkPeople Cookbook and marked some recipes that I think my family will enjoy.  Cooking is a whole new beast with my two daughters having a gluten intolerance, and one is also a vegetarian.  I'm slowly working my way through reading The Spark, nothing to do with the book, I'm just pretty darn busy and don't have a lot of time to read.  There are some great tips in there that I have highlighted.  The work out DVD is still in the wrapper, but my living room is not yet back to normal as I'm still Griniching the last bit of Christmas.  It will be getting used in the near future.

I busted out with Garlic Butter Grilled Fillets for lunch.  Full disclosure, I am really not a big fish eater, and if anything smells too fishy, I won't eat it.  I don't even have the first clue as to how to cook any type of fresh fish, so frozen patties is right up my alley.  I checked out the directions, fired up the oven, and set my fillets out on my baking sheet.  I knew I wanted to pair my fillet with some left over vegetable fried rice from the other night, so I added some Sesame Ginger Teriyaki Sauce to give it more of an Asian flavoring.  I knew that it would blend well with the garlic butter flavor.  I tossed everything in the oven, then waited.

Before long I had a lovely aroma wafting through the house.  I left my fillets in the oven for a couple minutes longer than the directions stated because my oven is funny like that, and heated up some rice for lunch.  The fillets cooked up beautifully and did not fall apart when I moved them over to my plate.  The galic and butter blended will with the sauce I added, and the fillet was flaky, tasty without an over powering fishy smell, and not dried out.  My lunch filled me up, and even carried me through my dreaded 3 pm munchies.
