Baked ziti is a lot like lasagna, but easier to make as there's no hassle of dealing with lasagna noodles. It's great as a comfort meal or a hot dish to bring to a potluck. This recipe is a basic version as we hate ricotta cheese. Just with every recipe you can change it and make it your own to personalize it to your needs and wants. Some will want to add meats like sausage others can take out the meats completely and only do a cheese zitti.

1 pound ground beef
1 jar (32oz) Marinara sauce
1 Tbsp Italian seasoning
1 Tbsp Garlic powder
1 Tbsp Onion powder
1 Tbsp Basil
1 cup of Parmesan cheese
1/2 bag of shredded mozzarella cheese
1 box of Zitti noodles ( Penne will work as well)

Cook noodles in water on stove until tender but still firm. While noodles are cooking, cook ground beef until brown; drain. Pre heat oven to 350 degrees, in a 13x9 dish pour enough marinara sauce to cover bottom and sprinkle a little cheese on sauce. Add in rest of marinara sauce, garlic, Italian seasoning, onion, basil into meat and let simmer for about 3 minutes. When noodles are done, pour them into 13x9 pan and pour meat sauce over them, mix everything up making sure everything is covered. Top with mozzarella and parmesan cheese. Bake in oven for about 20 minutes or until it's golden brown.

Serve with salad and garlic bread.
