One of our trips booked through Roberts Hawaii involved a quick stop over at the Dole Plantation.  I now want to go back for a longer visit.  They have a large gift store, so we had to pick up some Pineapple Jelly Belly's, as well as a couple of tropical flavored lip balms, and of course a cute little fridge magnet.  There was a huge assortment of goodies to look through, and it really was difficut figure out what to buy, because there was so much that I wanted to take home, like half the store. There is also the Plantation Grille where you can order some food, coffee, and pineapple whip soft serve ice cream.

They are not kidding when they say soft serve, the line for it was on the longer side, but moved rather quickly.  We ran outside to take some pictures, and for once the teens and I could not keep up with the ice cream melting all over the place.  I herded everyone back inside to air conditioning real quick to enjoy the ice cream at a slightly slower melt rate.

Sadly I did not have time to take the Pineapple Express train, the Worlds Largest Maze, or the Plantation Garden Tour, they did however have a small area just outside the gift shop and we saw a variety of pineapples in different stages of their life cycle.  There also were some chickens running around on the grounds that we all thought were very cute.

It it free to visit the plantation and browse around the gift shop and look at the small garden out back.  I really do want to go back and take part in the rest of the paid activities if I can drag hubby back to Hawaii in the furture.
