I have some vague memories of going out with my mom to the green bean fields after they were harvested and picking up all the left overs along the edges of the fields,  My mom always made green beans with bacon for dinner after we made it home from the fields.  While I've not gone harvesting in a long time, and rarely buy fresh beans from the store, I can still enjoy a childhood favorite any time I want.

1 can cut green beans
1/2 cup cooked bacon bits
Salt & pepper to taste

In small pot place green beans (including juice) and bacon its over medium low heat.  Stir occasionally and simmer instill juice is almost gone.  Add salt to pepper to taste and serve as side dish.  If you want to make this from fresh green beans, wash and cut  beans into roughly 1.5 inch segments till you have about 1 1/2 cups and add 1/2 cup water.
