Seems like every time I pull out bacon to make with something for dinner, I'm pulling out onions and garlic as well.  There is just something about the combination of the three flavors that is just rapture on the taste buds.  I've switched this up with red, yellow, and white onions, and it tastes great with all three.  I've also gone back and forth between fresh garlic, and minced garlic, just depends on what I have in the house at the time.

1 lb bacon cut into chunks
1/3 mediun onion diced
1 tablespoon minced garlic

I'm a rather lazy cook, so I just place everything in a large frying pan over a medium heat and stir occasionally.  Keep cooking until grease is very bubbly and bacon is crispy.  Use slotted spoon to remove from grease and place on paper towel to drain off excess grease.  Use in place of store bought bacon bits.
