I was given the chance to review kitchen utensils from Polder's Old World Market in exchange for my honest opinion. Polder's is not your everyday department store items. All of their products are hand crafted by talented men and women. No machines, no plastics, just natural wood, pure olive oil and beeswax. Polder's is a family owned and operated business that takes pride in their work. Since all products are handmade no 2 items are just a like, they carry different wood types like maple, cherry, hickory and dark walnut. With so many items to choose from they are perfect for any gifts, housewarming parties, anniversaries, birthdays, holidays. You will find the perfect gift for anyone on your list.

After looking at the very impressive catalog, with many cooking utensils, scoops and measuring cups, I finally chose the Spurtle Gift Set. This set includes 3 spurtles, a 9.5 inch Mary spurtle, 10.5 inch original spurtle and a 10.5 inch turned Scottish spurtle. I really didn't have any expectations as to what the products may look and feel like, but boy I was amazed at the beauty crafted in these spurtles. The wood is super smooth and clean cut. I have used them several times and there's no sign of the wood splitting or cracking. The handles are made perfectly to fit in your hands, with a great grip with the detail work. I've only washed them by hand and air dried as I'm really not sure what the dishwasher might do to them and honestly as wonderful as these are I don't want to take the risk. The original spurtle (the rounded one) is perfect for mixing ingredients together, the turned Scottish and the Mary spurtles are great for scooping out muffins, flipping bacon or sausage, pancakes, eggs and even meats like burgers and steaks. Sauteed veggies and chicken was a breeze using the turned spurtles. They truly are wonderful utensils and the best looking I have.

I have those days that literally I go into the kitchen and just start pulling odd and ends out of the cabinets and refrigerator. We all do it, sometimes we come up with a great tasting recipe and other times not so much. Well sticking to veggie month I did exactly that, went to the cabinets and refrigerator and just started throwing stuff together and came up with Rollup Chicken Fajitas with a Bang. I only made this as a one serving as I was the only one home; but feel free to add extra as needed for your families. Add some rice or veggies on the side and supper or lunch is done.

1 chicken breast
1/4 of a green pepper
1 tablespoon of butter
1 tsp. Lawry's seasoning salt
shredded cheese
spreadable cheese

Heat your butter in a non-stick pan on medium heat, cut chicken and green pepper into strips and let saute in pan. Sprinkle 1 tsp. of seasoning salt and cook chicken about 6 minutes on each side until no longer pink. Total time of green peppers and chicken was about 15 minutes. Spread a layer on spreadable cheese and salsa on tortilla. Sprinkle some shredded cheese and lettuce on top and add cooked chicken and green peppers. Wrap up tortilla into a big roll, and cut into 2 inch pieces. Serve as is with sour cream, or fix some rice and/or veggies as a side.
* Add sliced onions for extra flavoring.
