Recipe ~ Fried Bananas

My younger daughter gets all the credit for this recipe.  She is not a fan of my Fried Green Bananas, but loves it when I buy a fresh bunch of ripe bananas so she can quickly make this yummy treat.


Ripe Bananas


Preheat a skillet over medium high heat and melt some butter to grease the skillet.  Place some sugar onto a small plate and spread around to cover plate.  Cut banana in half, then cut each part half lengthwise, leaving the skin on.  Take a banana sections and place on top of sugar, gently pressing down to coat the meat of the banana with sugar.  Carefully place banana into skillet and allow to fry for 3-5 minutes.  Banana is done when sugar has caramelized and banana is warmed through out.  Grab a fork or spoon to break through caramelized top and scoop out banana from skin.
