My younger daughter has been fussing at me to help with a Holiday Recipe.  Thankfully I had received a bag of goodies from SweetWorks in exchange for my honest opinion.  I told my daughter to start pulling down baking goodies from the cupboards and we would experiment and see what we could come up with.  She promptly grabbed a bag of stick pretzels, mini marshmallows, and a bag of Celebration Sixlets and looked at me expectantly like I'm a kitchen wizard.  Ummm, yeah....I can make that work right?

I figured my first order of business was to open up the bag of Celebrations Sixlets and see what they were all about.  I have vague childhood memories of eating these, but decided I needed a flavor refresher course on these little candy coated chocolate flavored balls.  My girls and I dug in.  Even with the red, white, and green colors, they all tasted the same.  My oldest noted a bit of a malt flavor to them.  I noticed that the candy coating melted easily and was thin enough to make eating them very easy, and my youngest, well...she was just happy to be eating chocolate balls.

Having noticed how easily the Sixlets melted, I decided something in the oven was a must.  I figured between gooey semi melted marshmallows, and partially melted Sixlets, there would be enough stickiness to hold the whole thing together with some pretzels.  What came out, was a s'more like pile of sugary, chocolaty, crunchy goodness.  It took a while to figure out a name for this sweet treat, but with some help I decided to go with Snowman Campfires.

Ingredients:

Sixlets
Mini marshmallows
Pretzel sticks

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350.  Line baking sheet with parchment paper.  Break pretzel sticks in half.  Create little piles of marshmallows, Sixlets and pretzels.  Our piles used roughly 8 marshmallows, 6 pretzel halves and 6 Sixlets.  The Sixlets have a tendency to run away, so we tried to place them in areas in the piles that they would not easily roll away.  Place in oven for 5-7 minutes.  You want the marshmallows and Sixlets to just partially melt and cling to the pretzels.  Let cool completely before eating.  Once cooled remove from parchment paper.  The Snowman Campfires will hold their shape once cooled.  If they are still warm, they will sag when you try and move them.
