I love Peeps.  My youngest daughter loves Peeps.  My oldest daughter, not so much a Peeps lover.  With that in mind, I wanted to make a recipe with Peeps in it that she would like.  With a little brainstorming with my pals in this Blogger Recipe Challenge that Peeps was so kind to sponsor (you can check out some of their recipes below), I decided on Peeps S'mores.  I knew it would take more than just your basic S'more to get my oldest to eat a Peeps, and on a dare from one of the other chefs, I raised the bar to a Brownie Peeps S'mores.  How could this possibly go wrong when I bought Chocolate Chunk Brownie mix?  On a side note...I totally blame Week99er for the sugar coma after eating a Brownie Peeps S'mores

As I mentioned before, Peeps sponsored this recipe challenge and sent each of us a nice selection of Halloween themed Peeps for our honest opinion.  Well, aside from the fact that I love Peeps, I had no idea they had Chocolate Dipped Peeps, Chocolate Covered Peeps and even Chocolate Mousse Peeps!  Oh!  The horror of having teen girls and having chocolate in the house!  Even my Peeps hater was intrigued by the Chocolate Dipped Peeps.  After a couple of small tentative bites, she took off with it, and said, "OK.  Maybe Peeps are not that bad".  I've not worked my way through all the of Peeps yet, but the ones that have been decimated by little family have absolutely been enjoyed.

On to the fun part...making this ooey gooey treat!

Favorite box of Brownies and all ingredients listed on box
1 package graham crackers
24 ct Peeps Pumpkins
9 ct  Peeps Ghosts

This is a pretty easy treat to put together.  Preheat oven according to directions on brownie box.  Grease bottom and sides of 8x8 or 9x9 baking dish.  Prepare brownie mix as instructed and pour into baking dish.  Arrange a layer of Peeps on top of browning mix and lightly press down into batter.  I used an 8x8 baking dish and it fit all 24 Peeps Pumpkins and 6 Peeps Ghosts.  Top with crumbled graham crackers.  Bake according to brownie box directions and let cool before serving.  My oldest is now expecting this treat every time Peeps make their appearance for the holidays!
