Farmer's Market Recipe ~ Plum Sorbet

With summer harvests, come summer heat.  Sorbet's are an easy way to beat the heat.  Here is an easy sorbet recipe that can be swapped out with almost any fruit.  I have a bunch of plums, so I went with plums.


2 1/2 cups pitted plums
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp lemon juice
1 teaspoon peach schnapps (optional)


Place plums, sugar and lemon juice in blender and puree until very smooth.  If using peach schnapps, add after mixture is pureed, and give it a quick mix.  Place plum mixture in ice cream maker and freeze according to manufacture instructions.  Plum sorbet will be ready for soft serve after 30 minutes.  If you prefer a harder sorbet, place in air tight freezer container and freeze for two hours.
