I was recently given the opportunity to read and review Iris and the Dragonflies by Rosemary Danielis.  I am a complete dragonfly nut, throw in a dash of fantasy and BOOM...I'm hooked.  I was so excited to be allowed the honor to review this book.

I love that Iris is her own person.  No matter what she is told she passionately sticks to what she believes, and that is such a wonderful trait.  She has her own quirky set of friends and I felt very drawn to all the characters and the interactions between all the kids was spot on.

I thought overall that this was a well written and very imaginative book.  There were some more intense scenes, but overall the book does not have a lot of violence and the suspense was done well.  The descriptions of the dragonflies was very well done and I was easily able to imagine them flitting and darting about as the book described.

I have a 14 yr old daughter and she has just started reading the book and she seems to really like it.  Based on my daughters interest in the book, Rosemary Danielis definitely hit her target.  There are some great lessons in the book of friendship, and never giving up your dreams.

This is the first book of a series and I am looking forward to reading the rest of this series as it comes out.
